VKDCNY Summer Intensives 2012
Valentina Kozlova's Dance Conservatory of New York is proud to offer two ballet summer intensives and a ballet summer exclusive. The summer intensives and summer exclusive provide students with an intense, high level of training in the Vaganova technique.
Curriculum includes: ballet technique, pointe, classical variations, character, contemporary, and Russian gymnastics.
The VKDCNY Advanced Summer Intensive is a four week program designed for students ages 13 years old to 18 years old, who have achieved a high level in their ballet training, and wish to further their study of classical ballet technique and artistry. The VKDCNY Intermediate Summer Intensive is a three week program designed for students ages 8 years old to 12 years old who have achieved an intermediate level in their ballet training and wish to further their study of classcial ballet technique and artistry. The facutly for both intensives is led by Ms. Valentina Kozlova, and is comprised of other internationally renowned instructors of the Vaganova technique.
The VKDCNY Summer Exclusive is a one week elite program for advanced students only. Students are selected for the Summer Exclusive by Ms. Kozlova during the summer intensive audition and summer intensive. Summer Exclusive classes are taught primarily by Ms. Kozlova. Curriculum includes: ballet technique, pointe, classical variations and classical repertory.

All students wishing to audition must pre-register by submitting application form, headshot and $25 audition fee at least one week prior to audition date.

Please bring ballet slippers and pointe shoes (if dancing en pointe) to your audition. Auditionees will take class with year-round VKDCNY students.
If you are unable to attend one of the scheduled audition classes at the VKDCNY studios, DVD auditions are accepted. DVD should be no longer than 5 minutes and should include the following:
Barre (one side only)
Plié, Tendu, Rond de Jambe, Adagio, Grand Battement
Centre
Adagio, Tendu, Pirouette, Traveling Turns, Petit Allegro, Grand Allegro
Pointe (ladies only)
Echappé, Pirouette, Traveling Turns
